

She was always a precocious child and education was a priority. Getting to and from school every day was no easy task. Often the weather was cold and rainy, but she persevered with help from her father, who would lay boards in order for her to cross the water puddles.
While at F.W. Gross High, Ordie Mae was nominated to run for Ms. Gross, and she graduated third in her class of 1958. Upon graduation from F.W. Gross in 1958, she moved to Houston, Texas.
In 1959, she was united in marriage to Colley Washington Perry. Three beautiful children, Reginald, Marvin and Reca, were born to them.
Because of her impeccable retail knowledge and skills, she rose quickly to retail management. She was held in the highest esteem by many colleagues at JC Penny, where she retired with 25 years of service.
In 1976 Ordie Mae was baptized and added to the body of Christ under the leadership of Joe A. Teamer, Westside Church of Christ, Angleton, Texas. She was a current faithful member at Murphy Road Church of Christ, Stafford, Texas.
Ordie Mae sustained her faith and trust in God while developing lasting and enduring friendships and loyalty to friends and family.
Her earthly presence will be solely missed by so many with whom she came in contact, but we can be assured that she has left a legacy that will live forever in our hearts and lives. The love, trust, faithfulness, hard work, tenacity, resilience and diligence that she had while alive on this earth will always be with us as we strive daily to meet the high standards that she set for us.
Ordie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Colley Washington Perry; her parents, Willie and Exie Lee Louis Terrell; her grandparents, Georgia Bess Lewis and Charlie Lewis; her brothers, Floyd Terrell and Lewis Terrell.
She is survived by her three children, Reginald DeWayne Perry, Marvin John Perry, Reca Renae Perry; daughter-in-law Kathy Perry; grandchildren Cachae Renae Perry, Dustin Charles Perry, Olivia Rae Perry, Jonathon DeWayne Perry, Colley Rayne Perry, Barbara Marie Doty; eleven great grandchildren, siblings Georgine Levigne, Patsy Coleman, and James Terrell many nieces and nephews, cousins, and loyal and dedicated friends and neighbors.
