Ozella Smith

Ozella (Sister) Smith was called home by her Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 1012. She was born April 6, 1923 in Crenshaw County, Alabama to Annie and Cleve Kelley. David and Ozella were married 54 years on December 23, 1945 in Croup County, Georgia. He preceded her in death on 11/25/2000. They resided for 40 years on their 10 acres in Rye, Texas. The love of mowing with her riding lawn mower and gardening with her green thumb was a tribute to God's earth. Everything from blackeyed peas, corn, green beans to pecans, blueberries, and figs were the fruits of her labor. A special place in her heart was her brother Leon and also many relatives and friends. Loving her dogs Blondie and Foxy was her most enjoyable passtime.

Services will be held at Earthman's Funeral Home (Rankin Exit off of I 45 North, just past Beltway 8) at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 9th. The family will receive well wishers at 11:30 a.m., prior to service. Internment will follow at Brookside, located on 59, immediately following service.

The following verse was found in an index card in Ozella's Bible:

Lift up your voice and shout, and tell it all about God's truth is standing on it's feet once more. No longer does it lie dead within the street. God's remnant is standing on it's feet.

In addition, Ozella lived her life by the following. The paper it was written on was worn and folded many times over, as she evidently read it and lived by it.

SOME CHANGES MADE

1. There are many churches in the earth today

But only one in the righteous way

It's in God's order, it knows no man

It's being built by the Lord's own hand.

There'll be some changes made in you and me

The truth of God will set us free

We'll speak the same things, we'll be as one

There'll be no difference in you and me.

2. The Lord is choosing His church today

The ones who follow, His words obey

They shall be like Him, made free from sin

If in His body you can fit in.

3. He is preparing His ministry

With all His wisdom and purity

They'll preach His gospel in His dear name

And this will bring on the latter rain.

4. Now if you want to get in this church

You better pray and your Bible search

Ask God for wisdom and eyes that see

The truth of God, then will make you free.
