Patricia Ann Butera

Patricia Ann (Geye) Butera, 76, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, after a brief hospitalization. Affectionately known to family and friends as Pat, Trish, and Trishie, she was born in Gorman, Texas, on August 2, 1950, to parents Nolan and Frances Geye. Pat was a 1968 graduate of Granbury High School.

She moved to Houston for work and began working for the City of Houston Tax Office in 1969. Pat was promoted through various departments in the City, developing a career in purchasing and procurement. She eventually retired from the Houston Police Department Budget & Finance Division in 2005 after 36 years with the City.

It was in the Tax Office that Pat met the love of her life, Louis Butera. They married on December 31, 1971, and enjoyed over 44 years of marriage. More than hobbies or interests, Pat’s life was defined by relationships. She touched many lives with her unconditional love, heartfelt kindness, and genuine friendship.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis Butera, Jr., and her sister, Deborah Jean Geye. She is survived by her son Michael Butera, daughter-in-law Janice Butera, granddaughter Gia Butera, and many loving friends and family members.
