March 2, 1942July 20, 2013

Patricia Ann “Pat” Surber Clements, 71 of Houston, Texas passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her home with her loving husband and daughter by her side. She was born March 2, 1942 to Oliver and Gwyneth Surber in Borger, Texas. Her parents moved to Sweeny, Texas where Patricia grew up and graduated high school. Pat moved to Houston working in accounting until becoming a Real Estate Agent and later a Real Estate Broker operating her century 21 Real Estate business, later becoming Independent, maintaining her license to date. Patricia will be remembered as a strong, caring lady who had complete love for her family, and the love and admiration of her family. She loved to travel with her family and did so in the U.S., Mexico and Europe. Pat loved salt water fishing with friends and family. Pat loved reading and read one to two books weekly. We loved her completely. Her passing is hard for us to accept and is a void that cannot be filled. Patricia is survived by her husband Rodney, daughter Gwynneth Rutherford, grandson David Rutherford, a sister Anniece and brother Bill. Patricia was precede in death by her parents.

Dear Rodney,
I wasn't in town when Pat died and am sorry I haven't gotten in touch with you. You sound very depressed and I'm sure I would be if I had lost John. I only remember my mom telling me that I
should go on with my life. She passed in 2010 and it has been hard for me. Seems like it is just sinking in on me that she really meant that. We don't help anyone if we do not do that. Keep this and send it to me if something should happen to Dave or John. Mainly I am thinking what I would want for John and Dave if I should die. I want both of them to be happy and thrilled with each day. I want them to love each other and if John finds someone to love, even better. He is wonderful to me and should not be alone. He's such a blessing.
Pat would want the same for you. She wouldn't want you dragging about. she was too full of life. I know you guys were close and that you miss her. but that's o;k. Think of the funny things she said and did. There were tons of those things.
I will put you in my prayers and call you when I can. Love to you and
Linda & John East

I know there are no words to comfort someone in this great time of sorrow, but I do know that Pat lived life to the fullest enjoying every moment that past. I will truly miss her quick witt and sense of humor. She was a lovely lady.

Dear Rodney,
My sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of Pat. I always enjoyed her visits to Dr.T's office - she was so funny and entertaining, and definitely one of a kind! I'll bet she's up in Heaven making God and everyone else laugh! May all your happy memories bring you comfort until you meet again.

I have known Pat since the early seventies. We worked together and became good friends. We always kept in touch through our Christmas cards. The services Saturday were lovely and it was so good to see you, Gwen. Our prayers will be with you and Rodney .

Pat was my grandma, and she was the best. She was always ready for some fun and always ready to dish out her love to her family. She was an intelligent and loving woman who will be GREATLY missed by all those who knew her. No words can adequately describe my family's grief at our loss. I'll always love her as big as the Texas sky. RIP Granny, keep a seat ready for me up there next to you. Love, Little David

I have known Pat since the middle 70's she was my mentor at Red Carpet and C-21. We became more than associates we were friends. I had lost touch with her and her family for years. I would like the family to contact me. My prayers are with you Rodney and Gwen.
