
Patricia McCarty Parkin of Houston, Texas passed away February 28,2012. Born in Forth Worth, Texas on November 20, 1926, she was a third generation Texan. She was a graduate of Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas, amember of First Methodist Church, and a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi. In her eclectic and varied career, she worked for such Houston institutions as Battlestein's, Southwestern Bell, Humble Oil, and United Savings and Loan.
In the years after raising her family, she obtained her real estate license and became a successful retirement community sales consultant traveling coast to coast working in Denver, Albuquerque, Atlanta, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Long Island. She loved her workand relished the opportunity to travel, meet new people, and use her talented sales skills.
Patricia was a one of a kind personality — energetic and bubbly — with a wonderful, infectious love for life who always enjoyed dancing at a good party. She will also be remembered for her unique sense of style, her love of shopping, and her love of a great sale. Throughout her life, she had a great affection for Galveston Island and loved spending time there savoring the serenity of the beach. A proud Great-Grandmother, one of her most treasured activities in the last six years was enjoying time with her two great grandsons Ford and Gus.
She is survived by her brother Dudley McCarty of Pasadena, Texas, her two daughters Brenda Correll of Montgomery, Texas and Laurice Parkin of New York, NY, her granddaughter Kara Montgomery, her two great
grandsons Ford and Gus Montgomery and two nieces.
Private memorial services to be followed by a reception for family and friends at The St. Clair, 1111 Bering Dr., Houston, Texas on Monday, March 5th from 12pm-2pm.
