Paul was born to Velma Naomi “Sally” Elliott and Ralph Erle Chappell, Jr., on July 5, 1948, in Pasadena, TX. He graduated from Pasadena High School class of 1966. Paul served our country for one tour in the Vietnam War as a member of the US Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Erle Jr and Sally Chappell; his brother, Richard Earl Chappell; former wife and good friend, Deborah Annette Seward; best friend, Roy Seward.
He is survived by daughters, Tara Chappell and Jennifer Bullard and husband Adam; grandchildren, Benjamin Drab, Jesslyn Armstrong and husband Alex, Zach Bullard, Hunter Sivils, Harper Bullard, Gentry Bullard; former mother-in-law, Bernice Ruzycke Johns; former sisters-in-law, Pamela Karm and Natalie Ward and husband Joseph.
Paul enjoyed watching football, fishing, woodworking, reading, and puzzles of all types.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 11:00 AM with his funeral service immediately following at 12:00 PM; a committal service will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. All services will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. Pastor Mike Carlen will officiate the ceremony.
Pallbearers for the service will be Adam Bullard, Andrew “Drew” Chapman, Robert “Robbie” Ryan, and Zach Bullard. The family would also like to thank the healthcare team with St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassion and companionship for Paul over the years.
