Paul was born August 17, 1943 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Ethel Galvin. He attended Penn State University graduating with a BS in Accounting in 1965 and MS in Accounting in 1967. He worked at Exxon for 31 years and became a CPA. Paul also served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant during the Vietnam War earning the Bronze Star with an Oak Leaf Cluster. He married the love of his life, Susan Johnson, in 1981.
A kind and generous man, Paul valued his family, faith and friends. He served as Treasurer at Emmanuel Episcopal Church and valued the many friendships he made there, as well as the friendships he made while at Exxon and in the community. He will be sorely missed.
Paul is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan Galvin; his son, David Paul Galvin; brother, Charles Galvin and his wife Karen; brother-in-law, David Johnson and his wife Claire; nephew, Joseph Galvin; nieces, Kathleen Deffner, Christina Johnson and Marilyn Johnson.
Family and friends gathered and shared memories of this wonderful man's life during a visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 at Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas, where funeral services were held in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12. The Reverend Andrew Parker, officiated.
Graveside services and interment were held at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, October 15 at Houston National Cemetery, with members of the United States Army Honor Guard, providing military honors.
