Paula Gentile, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on November 2, 1939, in Goshen, New York, and was a devoted, hardworking, and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Paula was born to Paul and Ann Bamond and grew up in Monroe, NY. After graduating high school, she began her career at West Point Military Academy, working in the Cadet Headquarters—an early reflection of her steady dedication and capable spirit.
After going on a blind date with Joseph Gentile, Paula and Joseph married in 1965. Together they welcomed four children—Sonya, Renee, Danielle, and Joseph—and later moved to Houston, Texas in the late 70’s. After relocating, Paula found her professional home with Spring Branch ISD at Spring Branch Elementary, where she served for 25 years before retiring.
In retirement, Paula embraced the simple joys that mattered most to her: being present with her children and grandchildren, going to brunches, shopping, hosting holidays in her home, and enjoying life with the people she loved.
Paula was predeceased by Joseph Gentile (husband), Paul and Mary Ann (Ann) Bamond, Sonya Gentile (daughter), and Loretta Weatherly (sister). She is survived by David Bamond (brother), Paul Bamond (brother), Renee Foss (daughter), Danielle Vesmirovsky (daughter), Joseph Gentile (son), her grandchildren Mason, Alexis, Madison, Riley, and Reagan, and great-grandchild Adeline.
