Pauline Riggs Dillard

Pauline Riggs Dillard of Refugio, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the age of 105. Born May 15, 1908 in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Samuel Merritt Riggs and Jeanette Teal Riggs. She married Robert L. Dillard February 24, 1930 at First Christian Church on Main Street in Houston. Pauline was a long-time resident of Houston and a labor and delivery nurse at Heights Hospital for 30 years. She loved to cook, fish, play games, garden, and read her Bible. More than anything else, she loved to do for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Gaston Riggs, Jessie Sharman, Ruth Richbourg, Harriet Hudson, Marie Chittenden, and Teal Riggs. She was survived by her son, Bob Dillard, granddaughter, Cindy and her husband Jerry Fischer, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is at 1:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm funeral service on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Heights Funeral Home in Houston with the burial immediately afterwards at White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church/charity of one's choice.
