

Mrs. Pauline Hudson Reed entered into eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on March 12, 2012. Pauline was born on December 21, 1917 in Waxahachie, (Ellis County) Texas. Her parents were Mr. Will Hudson and Mrs. Lucy Dodson Hudson, who both preceded her in death. Her parents were farmers in Sardis, Texas, where she spent her childhood. She later met Rex Reed of Leon County, Texas, and they were married on March 31, 1938 in Harris County, Texas, where Mr. Reed was an officer with the Houston Police Department. They were married until Mr. Reed’s death in 1961.
They had three children, one passing at birth. Surviving children are Mr. Wayne Reed and wife, Rebecca Reed of Montgomery, Texas and Ms. Jeanie Kay Reed of Houston, Texas. She has four grandchildren, Kenneth Reed and wife, Debbie Reed of Montgomery, Texas, Krista Reed of Atlanta, Georgia, and Maria Reed and Susan Reed of Houston, Texas. In addition she has one great-granddaughter, Ms. Rachael Reed of The Woodlands, Texas. She is also survived by sisters, Opal Chandler of Waxahachie, Texas, and Laura Clark, and brother, Paul Hudson, both of Midlothian, Texas, and by numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death her by sister, Marie Fleeman and husband, Floyd of Waxahachie, Texas.
Mrs. Reed lived in the Heights her adult life while working at Beckham Meats, Weingarten’s, and Weiner's. She was a faithful member of Norhill Church of Christ for over sixty years before moving to Woodland Hills Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas. For the last two years of her life she has been a resident of the Harvest Home in Tomball, Texas, until her passing.
The family of Mrs. Reed wishes to thank Dr. Valdez, Harvest Home, and Lighthouse Hospice for their loving care during her stay and passing.
Visitation for Mrs. Reed will be from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. She will be taken for burial in Sardis Cemetery with her family near Waxahachie, Texas. The graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012.
