OBITUARY

Pauline R. Salazar

July 31, 1940November 26, 2019

Pauline Salazar was born on July 31, 1940 and went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2019 at the age of 79. She is survived by her son, Paul Salazar and his wife, Marchele Salazar; siblings, Loretta Canales & husband Joe, Marjorie Araiza & husband Jesus, Lawrence Rodriguez & wife Lucy, Linda Lozano, and Yolanda Rodriguez; along with many family and friends who loved and will miss her immensely. Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Florencio & Viola Rodriguez; siblings, Dolores Martinez, Richard Rodriguez. She will be remembered for her big heart, always willing to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. She grew up in the north side of Houston, A Jeff Davis High School graduate and lived her life in the Heights for over 50 years. Pauline was a hard worker and finally got to retire several years ago. She was an avid sports fan, she liked baseball but loved football and was even a Houston Oilers season-ticket holder for many years. She really loved watching television, especially Novelas (a Spanish soap opera). Always enjoyed pretty clothes, but especially loved wearing her red lipstick! She thoroughly liked eating good food, did baking in her younger years and she loved making homemade dressing and potato salad for her family. She enjoyed spending the Christmas holiday with family and enjoyed opening gifts, but especially loved giving gifts even more. She was very special by raising her only child as a mother and a father. And, the best mother-in-law that a daughter-in-law could ever ask for. She was truly loved! A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Tuesday, December 10th in The Chapel of Heights Funeral Home at 5:00pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm, officiated by Lucy Rodriguez. A small reception to follow on-site.

Aunt Pauline you are such an amazing woman whom everyone loved. You always lit up the room wherever you were. It was always such a wonderful time having you over for Easter. The girls would make sure to clean their room and prepare for your stay. As you have gained your wings watching over us all, we will continue to save your place every Easter and celebrate with you. We love you.

Pauline, I am so grateful to have known you. You brightened a room with your smile and sincere happiness. Always wishing well for others. You touched a lot of people which is an admirable quality. We might have lost a friend, but I agree- Heaven gained an ANGEL. You may be gone from our physical lives, but will live on in our hearts- NEVER forgotten! Rest In Peace Pauline.

We have lost a precious lady here on this earth...but Heaven has gained an Angel.

We always looked forward to spending time with Pauline at our Christmas Eve family gatherings. She was such a sweet and kind soul. Always had a smile on her face. Christmas Eve won't be the same without her this year but we rejoice in the fact that Pauline is now pain free and we will meet again on the other side.

Love and Hugs to Paul and Marchele. Prayers for peace in your hearts knowing she is watching over you.
