Pauline Verges, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Annie Kamas, her brother Paul Kamas, and her loving husband Angelo Verges. She is survived by her nephews Sam Kamas, Paul Kamas, Larry Coukis, Jimmy Verges, and Jimmy George Verges; her nieces Ann Crutchfield, Margaret Michalopulos and Effie Ambrose; her god daughter Matina Weempes; and their families.
Our beloved Aunt P would have been 91 years old in March. She had a successful and rewarding career as a manager of customer service for Houston Lighting and Power. Although she never had children of her own, she spent her entire life making her nieces and nephews feel as though they were her own. She loved her animals, and we often joked that if there is life after death, we should all hope to come back as one of her dogs or cats.
She was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Houston and was a strong lady that provided support and strength to those that loved her. We thank God that he shared her with us and allowed her to live out her life in her home, free from pain.
The family thanks Maria Beltran for the companionship and care she provided this past year.
The family will receive friends on Saturday January 26, 2019 from noon to 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Ave, Houston, TX 77023. A Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Forrest Park Lawndale Grand Chapel.
Memorial contributions can be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston 77006.
