

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our precious daughter. Payten Kathryn Alaniz, 13, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on April 19, 2023 after an 18 month courageous battle with a brain mass. Payten was born on March 17, 2010, to her parents Kevin and Delana Alaniz of Friendswood, Texas.
Payten most of all loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved playing volleyball, the beach, traveling, shopping, painting, and creating beautiful art projects. Being born on one of the luckiest of days, St. Patrick's Day, she was blessed with an absolute heart of gold. Payten was always caring and thinking of others. She had a smile, laughter, and kindness that lit up any room. Payten had a helping heart and empathy that was well beyond her years. Anyone who met Payten, immediately loved her.
Payten is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Wendell Keilers, and her paternal grandparents Nina and Robert Guillory. She is survived by her parents Kevin and Delana Alaniz, her older sister Preslee, and younger brother Pierce. She is also survived by her Mimi, Johnnie Keilers, Papaw, Silver Alaniz, and Memaw, Charlie Alaniz. In addition, Uncle Byron, Aunt Ashley Keilers, and cousins Cameron, Weston, and Brayden; Aunt Amber, Uncle Jacob Gonzales, and cousins Atlee, Adree, and Jake; Aunt Janet, Uncle Matthew Delay, and cousin Bradley. In addition, she had many more loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 9:30 a.m. at Watters Road Church of Christ. The church is located at 3616 Watters Road in Pasadena, Texas. Those in attendance are welcome to wear purple to help honor our Precious Payten,
Payten will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, for Car-T Cells research on solid masses.
