He was a loving husband for 51 years, a devoted father to three daughters, a wonderful Grandad to eight Grandchildren and three Great grandchildren, and a friend to all that crossed his path.
Born in Liverpool England, his journey started early as he made his way to the United States with his family in 1948. From Stephen F. Austin University, he pursued a career that took him all over the world. As his own family grew, they journeyed with him to many foreign and domestic locales. His pride was always his family, but his joys included a great game of golf, cold beers with friends, snow skiing on perfect powder and a beautiful day on the water fishing, boating, or waterskiing. He will always be remembered for his razor-sharp wit, great stories and making those around him laugh. He will always be endeared for these very same traits up until his final days in the hospital. He led a wonderful adventurous life full of love and laughter and will be forever missed.
In his years since retirement, he loved spending time with his girlfriend Carolyn Holstrom. She was his light that always led the way. The family would love to thank you for the absolute joy you gave to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years (d.11/20/2014) and his granddaughter Stephanie Shomper (d.8/29/2020).
He leaves behind his daughters Kristin Novilla, Valerie Spence-Bond, Amanda McClain, and his “son” in law Timothy McClain. Grandchildren Sydney Shomper, Dylan Spence-Fields, Ariel McClain, Zachariah Novilla, Kale Kerschner, Zoe Novilla, and Madison McClain. Great grandchildren Kanaan Jasso, Kieran Jasso, and Avery Novilla.
