Rachel Garduño Melendez, 58, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was born January 20, 1959 in Houston, Texas to Juan Simon and Margaret Gonzales Garduño. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Margaret Garduño. Rachel is survived by her children, John Brian Mares and Krystal Melendez; her grandchildren, John Brian Mares, Jr., Adam Joseph Mares, Aliza Renae Mares, Emma Sophia Lopez and Olivia Elise Lopez; her siblings, Gloria Rosales, Mary Gutierrez, Yolanda Perez, Lola Huerta, Sylvia Reyes, Art Garduno, Vera Medina and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rachel was a loving, hard working independent mother who raised her children single handedly.
