She was a devoted wife to Vincent A. Persicano and a loving mother to six children. She dedicated her life to the Church, teaching both children and adults. She became a Director of Religious Education for St. Jerome’s Catholic Church and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, as well as Director of Adult Education. Her proudest moment was when she was professed a secular Franciscan on May 12th, 1991. Of the many roles she played as a secular Franciscan, her most cherished role was that of Formation Director, over many of the 35 years in this organization.
Rachel was predeceased by her husband Vincent A. Persicano, her son Vincent T. Persicano, her grandsons, Jacob Goldapp and Vincent W. Persicano, and son-in-law John Ache. She is survived by five children, Barbara Luce and spouse Lynn, Diane Ache, Minna Broadhead and spouse Jim, Carol Goldapp, Michael Persicano and spouse Phyllis, and fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to SEAScatholic.org or St. Vincent de Paul, and kidsmealsinc.org (an organization that provides sack lunches for underserved children Pre-K through grade school).
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1100 a.m., July 13, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, Texas, 77084.
