Ray was born on October 25, 1953, in Pasadena, Texas, to Rafael Silva Garcia Sr. and Olga Trougillo Lujan. He spent his life in the Houston area, where he built a life filled with family, hard work, and cherished memories.
In 2000, Ray married his wife, Yesica Garcia, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. Together, they made their home in Houston, Texas.
Ray was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent over 40 years working as a tile installer, proudly operating his own business. His craftsmanship and strong work ethic reflected the dedication he brought to everything he did.
Ray found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved listening to Tejano music and staying connected with the people he cared about. Whether he was calling to check in, share a story, or simply have a conversation, Ray enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends. Those familiar phone calls, his voice, and the memories he created will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Above all, Ray leaves behind a family who will cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yesica Garcia, and his children: Lisa Salazar, Raquel Garcia, Rafael Garcia III, Crystal Ojeda, Sunshine Garcia, Melanie Phan, and Ray Patrik Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Silva Garcia Sr. and Olga Trougillo Lujan, and his grandmother, Patricia S. Garcia.
During Ray’s final years, his loving wife, Yesica, devoted herself to his care, making countless sacrifices to ensure his comfort and well-being. Through every challenge, she remained faithfully by his side, demonstrating unwavering love, strength, and selflessness. Her dedication and devotion were a true testament to the love they shared.
Though Ray is no longer with us, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, the Tejano songs that bring him to mind, and the love of the family he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tan Phan for his kindness, support, and dedication in helping plan and coordinate Ray's funeral arrangements.
A memorial service honoring Ray's life is planned for October 25, 2026, on what would have been his 73rd birthday.
