A resident of Riverside, just out of Huntsville, Texas, Ray was a lifelong sportsman. He was an avid bowler winning numerous tournaments and teased often about the number of balls he always carried. A hunter, whose enthusiasm for the sport rubbed off onto his Mother and they went on numerous hunts with his Dad and Walter and several others throughout the years. And, he was a born fisherman. It was said; all he had to do was put a hook in the water and in moments was reeling in a catch. Recently, Ray took up golf and came to love not only the game, but the many new friends he made while playing.
He loved the store and felt after 28 years with Sonic, he learned the true value of hard work, good friends and team mates.
His sister Joyce said, “Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for Houston Hospice. The loving care and devotion given Ray, was even extended to the family. Those doctors and caregivers are special and will always be in our hearts.”
Family and friends gathered and celebrated this wonderful man’s life during a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24th in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas.
