To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" Ephesians 3:1 Reverend Claude Leon Hill was born to the late Claude and Mary Ellen Hill in Chicago, Illinois, June 14, 1935. After graduating from Simeon High School in Chicago, he began a career as an animal technician at The University of Chicago Billings Hospital. Leon gave his life to Christ at an early age; he remained faithful to the cause of Christ and the work of the ministry, having served God in several capacities. Many know that one of his favorite positions was as an Usher in the Lord's house. He became a Deacon in 1985. After graduating from the Moody Bible Institute he became an Associate Minister at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois where he served for many years. In 1987 Reverend Hill married Deborah Hicks-Hill. Reverend Hill often referred to Deborah as "the love of my life". They enjoyed twenty-eight years of marital bliss. Reverend Hill retired from The Chicago Board of Education after many years of service and he and Deborah moved to Spring, TX. Reverend and Sister Hill united with Truevine Missionary Baptist Church in 2000. Reverend Hill served as a faithful member of the Truevine clergy team until his health failed. Although he will be missed greatly, it is of great comfort that he "fought a good fight, finished his course and kept the faith," until his Father called him home. He leaves to mourn his passing: His dear wife Deborah Hicks-Hill, sister- Beverly Hoskins, daughter-Mary Harris, two sons- Claude Jr. and Christopher Hill (two children preceded him in death, Bryant and Duane Hill), former wife-Lucille Hill, his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of family, friends and loved ones.
