Our condolences to wife and family. Richard was a very special friend of almost forty years. We had so many wonderful times together. He was a blessing to our family and an inspiration to all that knew him. A true patriot that loved his country, family and friends. His loss has created a vacant spot in our hearts that will always be with us. God bless the family during this time of sorrow.

Our friendship began when we met at Macsteel and he became my mentor. We became very good friends as he prayed with me as I began battling a serious health condition that requires chemo. He taught me so much about the Steel Industry, but even more about life. He sat with me and cried with me when I lost my parents. He was someone I always cherished each visit with. I called him Granddaddy Richard and that's how I will always remember him. He loved his family so much. He was so proud of Drena. And he loved and adored his children and often speak with proud about their various accomplishments. He loved his church and was very instrumental in strengthening my faith and getting me back into the church. He was a special man who will be remembered most fondly. May he rest in peace. May God truly comfort Drena, Michael, Joel and Jessica and the rest of the family.
