Richard Melchor

He is survived by his children: Joshua Melchor, Rick Melchor, and Stephanie Dillard (Clint). He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Katherine Melchor, his sister Esther Flores and two brothers, Ray and Rodney Melchor. He also leaves behind six nieces and five nephews, including his godson, Roger Melchor, and his goddaughter, Kristen Melchor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Melchor and his brother, Roland Melchor.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. from 1983 to 1986. He retired from his role as a Supervisor at the United States Postal Service after 35 years of service. Richard was an avid sports fan and could always be found cheering on his hometown teams—the Astros, Texans, and Rockets. He especially loved the Astros and was known among friends and family as their biggest fan.

Visitation services will be held on May 6th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at Forest Park on May 7 at 10:30 am, with a graveside service to follow at Houston National Cemetery.
