In high school Robert worked at various auto parts shops which financed his passion of fast cars and racing. After high school he sought employment in the energy business and was hired at Ethyl as a process operator. He worked at Ethyl until they had a reduction in force and was released. Robert then decided that he wanted to work for a big name energy company and applied at Exxon Baytown. He was employed at the Exxon Baytown for almost 19 years before experiencing a life changing stroke. Robert truly LOVED working at Exxon. He often spoke of the great people he worked with and the activities the company provided for the employees.
Robert’s stroke slowed him down but didn’t stop him from pursing his desires. He got a motorized wheel chair and van and was off. Robert enjoyed traveling and gambling. Quite often he traveled to locations where he could gamble. Robert also had a soft spot in his heart for stray cats and dogs. If a stray came in his yard there would be food and water out in no time.
