He attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he was nominated “Best Dressed Boy” and graduated in 1957. From there, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and attended Texas Southern University. After being discharged from the Air Force, Robert enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Para Trooper and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring April 26, 1997. He simultaneously worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post office and retired after thirty years of service.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy Malbrough, on December 29, 1964. To this union, two children were born: Robert LaRose DeKeith and Tyrone Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Rodell Davis; Adell Davis; and three sisters: Bertha Holloway; Arneice Cross; and Minnie Ruth Pickett.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Dorothy Davis, son Robert L. Davis (Carmen Davis); son Tyrone R. Davis (Kimmie Bennett Davis), two brothers Jessie Ray (Bobbie), Willie Ray (Eddie) and two sisters Gertie King and Eartha Lee Davis Bauchman, four grandchildren Ashlie Rene’-Davis, Qualen DeKeith Davis, Sr., Robert LaRose DeKeith Davis, Jr. and Cassidy Monet Denise Davis; three great-grandchildren Khari Davis, Qualen DeKeith Davis, Jr. and Quavion Davis and a host of family and friends.
