Robert is survived by his loving partner of 15 years, Chris Marshall, his mother Minerva Guerra, brother Hugo Guerra and his wife Mari, nephew Joseph Guerra, aunt Olga Nunez, several cousins, and countless friends who consider themselves family to Robert. Robert was preceded in death by his father Jose Guerra and his sister Diana Guerra.
Robert was born Jan. 21, 1959 in Houston, where he spent most of his life. He also spent a few years in Austin, where he worked in technology and where more importantly, he met Chris, who would later become his partner in business and in life.
After moving back to Houston in the early 1990s, Robert found his passion as a hair stylist and had the talent and good fortune to succeed as a stylist for more than 20 years. His client list was full and his clients loyal – most with him for 15 or more years. As anyone who sat in Robert’s chair will say, he didn’t mince words or suffer fools, but could always be counted on for laughs with his sharp wit and humorous take on life, all the while creating a magnificent hairstyle.
His illness came on fast and furious. Before then, Robert loved to run at Memorial Park and work out daily in his favorite Heights gym. In his free time, Robert traveled to sunny destinations, dished over dinner with friends and hung out at his beautiful home with Chris and his pups, Toro and Pinot.
A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held Friday, July 21 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, (1 p.m. visitation, 2 p.m. service) 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.

Robert’s wish is for us to celebrate his life, not mourn his passing. “You don’t have to wear black, but for God’s sake, dress stylish!”
