Robert Lester Nimmo Jr.

Robert was a devoted husband of 56 years and a loving son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife Shirley Roberts Nimmo. Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Bob and Lillian Nimmo and sister Judy Nimmo Sugg.

Robert was born in Houston, TX on June 27, 1936 where he spent his early childhood years. The family then moved to San Diego at age 4 when his father was drafted into the Navy during World War II. After 3 years in San Diego they returned to Houston where he lived through middle school. His family then moved to Huntsville where he lived the remainder of his school age years.

Robert attended Huntsville High School and was a member of the Huntsville High School 1953 state football championship team. Following High School, Robert served in the US Navy. After his service in the military he began his career working for the US Postal Service.

As an adult, Robert loved all sports and doing crossword puzzles. Robert was a faithful follower of Christ and devoted his life to serving Him. He was an active member at The Woodlands Church and enjoyed teaching and attending many bible studies with his wife Shirley and their dear friends.

Robert will be laid to rest at the Houston National Cemetery for Veterans.
