Robert Ramirez

Robert Ramirez of Houston, TX passed away on July 7th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Brownsville and is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Garza Ramirez and Eva Yzaguirre Trejo, wife Linda Kay Ramirez, sister Irene Granado, brother Joe Ramirez, numerous aunts and uncles, and nephew Kevin Thomas Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Christina Ramirez, Lindsay R. Ramirez, and Lee Dobecka, sisters Maria Elena and her husband James Baxley, Lelia Kelly, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Robert was truly one-of-a-kind with a great sense of humor–a self-proclaimed “weird kid” who enjoyed reading newspapers at a young age. He later attended Charles H. Milby High School where he proudly took part in their award-winning J.R.O.T.C. program. He was a highly intelligent, devoted, and hardworking husband and father who brought so much warmth to everyone in his life, from old coworkers at Shell Oil E&P to in-laws he gained through marrying the love of his life, Linda. We are deeply comforted by the fact he has been reunited with his soulmate. He was a bringer of Shipley’s and pan dulce, and a true storyteller with an endless amount of interesting tales to tell.

Family and friends are invited to Robert's viewing at Forest Park Lawndale funeral home on Friday, July 17th, 2026 in the Colonial Chapel. Viewing for immediate family will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m., with the public viewing taking place from 5:00-9:00 p.m.. The chapel service is set for 7:00 p.m., while the internment of his ashes will take place at a later date.

The family offers their deepest thanks to his lung transplant doctor, Dr. Mena Botros and team, and Houston Methodist Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Robert in his final days, notably the CVICU team at Walter Tower. We also thank Angie for his pre- and post-op care and Lindsay Ramirez for her countless hours of dedication over the years.
