Robert P. Ramon, 94, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2017. He was born on May 1, 1923 in Smithville, Texas. Robert is preceded in death by his wife Concepcion (Connie) Ramirez Ramon, his mother and father Maria and Baltazar Ramon, sister Alicia Martinez, brother Ruben Ramon, as well as his sons Armando and Robert Ramon Jr. He is survived by his daughters Carmen Monteforte (Cosimo) and Vera Quintero (Marcelo Sr.), Grandchildren Monica Stewart (Michal), Marina Schlosberg (Lee), Marcelo Quintero Jr. (Ingrid), Marco Monteforte (Kristal), Anna Quintero and 10 great grandchildren, brother Raul Ramon, sisters Rachel Bateman and Mary Salinas.
Robert was a WW2 Veteran in the First Calvary Division of the US Army, a Military Police and temporary Honor Guard for General Douglas MacArthur while stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, American Legion and Young at Heart group at St. Patrick and St. Matthews Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
Robert’s favorite hobbies were singing, playing the guitar and fishing.
The family would also like to thank his caregivers, Maria Torres, Millicent Reid, Dolores Grimaldo and Nivian Laredo who treated Robert with so much love and respect.
All memorial services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home (6900 Lawndale Street, Houston Tx 77023) (713-928-5141). The family will accept friends in the Grand Chapel on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5pm- 9pm with a Rosary beginning at 7pm. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11am with interment to follow.
