Robert Eugene Taylor, lovingly known as Robert, Bobby, Bob, and most affectionately as “Big Bob,” passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born in Houston, Texas, on August 19, 1957, to Rufus and Laverne Taylor.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Laverne Taylor, and his beloved sister, Patricia Forton, who passed away in October 2025.
He is survived by his daughters, Keisha Russell and Shekara Neal; his son-in-law, Daniel Neal; his six grandchildren, Taylor, Addison, Hannah, Cohen, Lyla, and Brooks; his brother, Donald Taylor; and numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know and love him.
A proud Northside Houston native, Robert attended Sam Houston High School, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Regina Taylor. Together, they built a family that became Robert’s greatest accomplishment and source of pride. They were blessed with two daughters, Keisha and Shekara, and six grandchildren: Taylor, Addison, Hannah, Cohen, Lyla, and Brooks.
Robert spent most of his working life as an electrician, known for his hard work, determination, and ability to get things done. But his greatest joy was always his family and friends.
Robert loved spending weekends at the beach in Galveston, fishing, dove hunting, taking trips to the lake, and making memories with the people he loved. He was also a devoted Houston Texans fan and proudly held PSL season tickets from the beginning of the franchise.
His family will remember his unmistakable laugh, larger-than-life personality, epic dance moves, and the teddy bear heart underneath it all—unless someone cut him off in traffic or brought up President Trump!
His greatest legacy will not be measured by the years he lived or the work he accomplished, but by the people he loved and the memories he created. His daughters will forever carry the love of their father, and his grandchildren will grow up knowing the stories of their larger-than-life Big Bob, carrying pieces of him with them wherever life takes them.
He loved BIG. He lived BIG. And he left a BIG hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him. That hole will be filled for the rest of our lives with stories, laughter, memories, and a whole lot of love.
The family invites everyone who attends to wear Red, White and/or Blue in honor of Robert.
