Robert Van Bibber

Robert Van Bibber, born December 14, 1924 to Santiago and Elvira Van Bibber in Houston, Texas, passed away February 1, 2013 in Houston. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his beloved wife, Gloria Maria Van Bibber. He is survived by daughters, Diana Blackshear and husband, Roland, Debra Van Bibber, Doris Van Bibber, and Donna Van Bibber; grandchildren, Joy Dortch and husband, Micah, Julie Sohm and husband, Yori, Joshua Vercher, Christopher Robert Sheffield, and Sierra Ellis; great-grandchildren, Zayden Sohm, Darrin Sohm, Joshua Vercher, Caedo Sheffield, and Rhys Sheffield, and by other family and friends.

Mr. Van Bibber served his country proudly as a Seabee in the Navy during WWII. He was a longtime employee of Southern Pacific Railroad.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. A committal service will follow in Houston National Cemetery.
