Robert Earl Webb departed this world serenely on January 2, 2024, enveloped by the affection of his devoted wife, children, and siblings. A remarkable husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he cherished 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved, Mary Lou.
He entered the world as the son of Bernard John Webb and Lillian Brierton Compte in Victoria, Texas on September 24, 1944. When his mother wed Arnold Brady Compte a few years later, he was graced with the privilege of calling A.B. his dad for the majority of his life.
Robert united in matrimony with his soulmate, Mary Lou McMillian, and together they joyfully welcomed three children into their lives: John Weldon Webb, Stephanie Lynn Milstead, and Jason Bailey Webb.
Robert cherished moments spent with his family, whether at home engaging in lively games and hosting gatherings, or while exploring new destinations together. He was a captivating storyteller, regaling tales of his youthful racing adventures, the magnificent cars he amassed over the years, and sharing anecdotes from his dedicated service with the Houston Fire Department.
Robert enjoyed a distinguished career with the Houston Fire Department, dedicating 34 years to Station 27. He retired in 2004, coinciding with the closure of the original station and its relocation to a new facility. Throughout his tenure at HFD, he remained at the same station, fostering a deep brotherhood and unbreakable bond with his fellow firefighters. These men, more akin to family, shared a lifetime of camaraderie, love, and friendship. Robert’s family will forever treasure the tales of their playful antics and steadfast commitment to serving the City of Houston.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by his beloved children: John Weldon Webb and his wife Kelli, Stephanie Lynn Milstead with her husband Mark, and Jason Bailey Webb alongside his wife Jolie. His life's joy, his grandchildren - Josh Webb, Deliliah Webb, Rani Milstead, Dalton Webb, Candace Webb, Andrew Milstead, Brandi Milstead, and Laurel Webb - will continue to carry his spirit. His great-grandchildren, Sawyer Webb, Cason Webb, Harlynn Webb, and Emery Webb will grow up hearing tales of his kindness and wisdom. He is also fondly remembered by his brothers Bernard Webb, Rick Compte, and Butch Compte and sister, Melanie Madison. Robert’s journey through life leaves an incredible mark on all their hearts, his memory a guiding light of love and family unity.
A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Monday, January 15, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
