Rocky Carroll, age 79, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Born in Houston, Texas, he graduated from St. Thomas High School. He retired from Harris County Sheriff’s Department after 20 years of service. He was a skilled Bootmaker who became the “Bootmaker to the Stars” and to numerous United States Presidents as well. He was preceded in death by first wife, Dorothy Patricia Carroll. Survived by daughters, Janise Bennett, Sherry Carroll and Julie Houck; sons, Michael Carroll and Taylor R. Collins (deceased); grandchildren, Brittany Carroll, Johnny Talley, Tabitha King, and Zachary Houck; great grandchildren, Austin King and Colin King; former wife, Judge Denise Collins; brother, Paul Carroll and wife Dinah; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will then be at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
