Roger Lee Kohlman

Roger Lee Kohlman, born September 24, 1948 to Gurrod (Sonny) and Doris Rush Kohlman in Houston, Texas, passed away March 21, 2010 in Houston. Mr. Kohlman was preceded in death by his father; step-brother, Tommy Treybig, and grandchildren, Layla and Alayna Kohlman. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones Kohlman; children, Dana, Lauren, Leigh, John, and Ross; stepson, Daryle Courtney and wife, Paige; grandchildren, Christopher, Kaleigh, Devin, Cassie, Lynsey, and Faith; his mother, other family, and many close friends and classmates.

Roger graduated in 1967 from Reagan High School in the Heights, and served his country proudly in the army in Vietnam. He worked for ISI Food Service Equipment. Roger was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who dearly loved his family, his dogs, baseball, cooking, and the Heights. He was a great story-teller and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
