Known to his friends and family as Ronny, he was born to Lucille and Lloyd Boudreaux on January 14, 1952 in Jennings, Louisiana. He attended Goretti Elementary, Roanoke Jr. High School and Welsh High School. He was in band, which is where his life-long love of music began.
At the age of 18 he married Bonnie Marie Primeaux, who would be the love of his life, for the rest of his life. Together they had four children, Kevin, Rene, Erin and Adrian. Ronny worked as a lineman for the town of Welsh for many years. He enjoyed serving the public, and especially getting to see and talk to so many people daily.
However his greatest love was his family and being so loved by his children. He was overjoyed by his four grandchildren and amused by their antics. They were held as closely in his heart as they could be.
He was very close to his mother, Ma, and called her every morning to see if, in her words, “she was still alive.” He always was able to think beyond himself to care about others, living life by his favorite phrase, “Do the best you can.”
His wife, Bonnie said he was a kind person who has and did give the coat off his back when someone was in need. He felt no person should be treated unfairly. She described him as a strong, caring and brave man who told her he loved her as many times as he could each day. He was her best friend. There was always a twinkle in his eyes and his friendly smile could light up a room. Although he had a small frame, he never had a loss of appetite and was regularly excited to see what Bonnie was cooking in the kitchen.
His favorite pastime was talking with friends and, above all, playing music. “Jam sessions” in the kitchen were always a part of life. Bonnie says this will be their most treasured memory.
Through 40 years of enduring physical pain, Bonnie says Ronny never lost sight of the big picture. His faith stayed strong and intact; he always made an effort to present himself in a dignified manner. His unwavering faith and love of God helped him get through some difficult times in life. He wanted fellowship, peace and trust for his town of Welsh and the world.
He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd, sister Annette, brother Robert, grandparents and friends. Here on Earth he will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Bonnie, his mother, Lucille Boudreaux, his brother Mark and family, his children Kevin, Rene, Erin and Adrian and their families, his grandchildren and friends.
Ronny’s memorial service was held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh, Louisiana on Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Ronald Boudreaux Trust at Jeff Davis Bank, 101 North Adams, Welsh, Louisiana, 70591. Phone: 337-734-5555.
