Rosa V Moreno

1924-2016

Rosa V. Moreno a devout Catholic; born August 29, 1924, passed away February 18, 2016. Preceded in death by husband Deacon Leopold R. Moreno, her parents Aurelio and Dolores Villagomez, sisters Teresa Zavala, and Elvira Garcia, brothers Manuel Villagomez and Andrew Villagomez, and son Charles Moreno. Survived by sons, Oscar Moreno, John Moreno; daughters, Dollie Contreras, Stella Lopez, (+John), Ruth Moreno, Tessie Kempenski (Dale), Norma Baiardi (Joe), Carrie Martinez; daughter in law, Olga Moreno (+Charles);16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 siblings, Delfina Valdez, Mary Ruth Arevalo, Ricardo Villa, and Henry Villagomez. Family was very important to her; she was so proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She was well-loved by all who knew her. Rose's happy personality and sense of humor were an inspiration to all who spent time around her. She worked as an Office Manager, and Executive Assistant, at numerous companies. Rose worked for Neighborhood Centers Daycare, was Director of Religious Education at Resurrection Church and coordinated the Food Pantry there for many years. Her dedication to her family and faith were inspirational to many. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2016 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 915 Zoe, Houston, TX 77020. Funeral procession immediately following with burial at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at St Dominic's Village.
