Rosa is survived by her loving husband Joe Quinones, her 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grand kids, and her 3 kids Joe Quinones Jr., JoAnn Carpio, and Jessica Medrano. She was the youngest sister of 12.
Rosa grew up near Magnolia Park in Houston, TX where she met Joe Quinones in the third grade. However, it would be many years before they would start to date at the age of 17 followed by marriage at the age of 21. They started their family shortly after and were happily married for 55 years.
Rosa was a dedicated, kind, and caring wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. She enjoyed holidays and birthdays with her family and celebrated every milestone. To say she loved to have a good time would be an understatement. She never missed an opportunity to dance with her kids or grandkids, especially when a good Tejano or Selena song played.
In her younger years, she liked to participate in all the activities with her family. She even had a competitive edge when she played kickball at family camping events. The family was always surprised on how she would want to keep up with the grandkids in her fifties, kicking and running as if she was going for the gold. She always just wanted to be a part of the fun.
Holidays were some of her favorite occasions, especially Halloween and Christmas. For Halloween, she would wholeheartedly commit and dress in a full witch outfit, long nails, black wig, and a face of green makeup. Her and Joe would transform the entire garage into a haunted house for the grandkids and neighbors. Rosa just loved to bring joy to others and would make every occasion special and memorable for those around her.
She enjoyed dancing, cooking, a good wine cooler, girl days, decorating her house with everything sunflowers, and crocheting. Each time she was blessed with a grandkid or great-grandchild, she would make a handmade blanket to celebrate new life. Rosa will be remembered for her infectious smile, kind heart, and her love of life and all the joy that came with it. She will be forever loved and has left behind a family legacy that will be remembered for eternity.
