Rosa Maria Tovar

Rosa, was born on September 10, 1947 in Monterrey, Mexico to Amador and Esperanza Sanchez. On September 22nd, 1968, she married the love of her life Porfirio and were married for 55 years until his passing. At age 31, seeking a brighter future and new beginnings, they moved with their 4 sons to the U.S. settling in Houston, Texas and soon welcoming their 5th son.

Though preceded in departure by her parents, Rosa leaves behind a tapestry of memories. Rosa's spirit is cherished by her beloved sons Alberto, Cesar, Edgar, Hector, and David. Her laughter and wisdom continue to resonate through her 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, each a living testament to her profound love. Her siblings Mario, Juan, Francisca, Socorro, Irma, Luis, Sergio and Amador Jr. hold dear the strength and love she imparted.

We invite friends, family, and all whose lives were brightened by Rosa to join in celebrating her remarkable life. A viewing will be held at the Forest Park Grand Chapel on Thursday, August 1st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 2nd at 11 a.m., culminating ,with a graveside service at 12 p.m.

As we gather to celebrate and honor Rosa's life, let's embody the kindness and love she exemplified throughout her life. Her legacy is not confined to the past but lives on through the warm acts of kindness we share, inspired by her enduring spirit.
