Rose Marie Calma Candela

Rose Marie Calma Candela, age 90, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Rose was born February 24, 1932. Rose Marie grew up in the back of her family's grocery store at Jensen & Campbell. She graduated from Davis High School. She then attended University of Houston. She was very active in the Italian community and a founding member of Neo Debs Italian Club and St. Vincent De Paul. She was an active volunteer in the development of West University little league where her four boys played. Rose Marie enjoyed music, dancing, shopping - especially for shoes! and playing cards with her girlfriends. Rose Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Antoinette & Anthony Calma, daughter Cynthia Ann Candela, sister JoAnne Calma Siragusa, and her husband Charles Candela. Rose Marie is survived by her sons Mark Candela (Julie), Stephen Candela (Cynthia), Charles Candela (Jessica), Michael Candela. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Lauren and Megan Candela. A visitation for Rose will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025, followed by a funeral service from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
