Rose Mary Spencer

Rose Mary (Urso) Spencer, my darling little wife, passed away on our 68th wedding anniversary, April 6th, 2015. She was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana on February 22, 1923 to the late Sam and Mary Urso. She is preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Rose Mary attended a Catholic grade school in Louisiana and completed her business school education in Houston, Texas. During her lifetime Rose Mary worked in retail for several years and proceeded to work for Anderson Clayton Cotton Brokers and the Chancery of Galveston and Houston until she retired. After retirement she worked endless volunteer hours in Queen of Peace ministries and at St. Dominic's Village. She held many offices within the Catholic Daughters Court Mother of Charity #1713, including Regents, District Deputy and State Treasurer. Rose Mary married her loving husband, Thomas Patrick Spencer on April 6th, 1947. They enjoyed many years together bowling, golfing, swimming, playing cards, traveling, dancing and going to casino's. She is survived by her devoted husband Patrick and many nieces and nephews who will miss her presence in their lives. Rose Mary was the joy in her husbands life. She was his "Little Darling", and he will love her forever. The family will receive frends at Forest Park Lawndale from 5-8pm with a rosary at 7pm on Sunday, April 12th. A Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 13th at 10am, held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. 3011 Telephone Rd, Houston, Texas 77023.
