

Sister Ruby Phillips was born in Dayton, Texas September 30, 1926 to Lou Clay and Guy Bradford. She attended school and resided in Diboll, TX with her Aunt Janie Foster. She later moved to Spring, TX with husband Claude Phillips and children. Sister Phillips was a member of St. Paul United Methodist church until she answered God's call to take her peaceful rest. She is preceded in death by husband Claude Phillips; Parents Guy Bradford and Lu Clay; Sisters Annie Lee Phillips and Blanche Stewart; Brother Herman Charles; Granddaughters Nicole Smith and Brittany Phillips; Sisters-in-laws Lois Phillips and Willie Lee Scott Cherishing her legacy of Love are: Daughters Yvonne Balderas; Claudia Phillips Thompson (Jerry Sr.), Houston, TX; Cheryl Phillips, Spring, TX; Janice Phillips Davis (Ernie), Aurora, CO; Sons Gary Smith (Margaret); Bobby Smith; and Kenneth Phillips, Houston, TX; Grandchildren(17): Raymond Balderas, Jr; Carla Balderas Johnson (Troy); Gary Balderas; Damian Balderas; Nicole Balderas, Gary Smith, Jr (Courtney) Nathan Smith and Ryan Smith; Jerry Thompson, Jr.; Rodney Thompson; Christine Phillips; Rona Adams; Richard Phillips; Tyesha Smith- ; and Melvin Philio, Aurora, CO (Trish); 23 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters-in-Law: Neoma Phillips, Spring, TX and A.D. Hilton, Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Sister Phillips loved her church and was a faithful member. She called her children every day to say "I love you so much and I pray for you everyday". She read her Bible every day. Although her health was failing she said "I have a story to tell!" and gave her praise and testimony to God Almighty daily. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
