Following her marriage in 1948 to Ted Bloyd Jr., also of Houston, Ruth and Ted were blessed with the birth of their first child, Ted Carson Bloyd. Shortly after her graduation from Rice University, her daughter, Ruthanne was born. Their third child Kathryn (Kathy) Aline Bloyd was born in 1965, further blessing their lives.
