Sally "Kona" Ybarra Delgado

Sally was born to Issac Ybarra and Amelia Rodriguez Ybarra, April 8th, 1949 in Houston, Texas. She attended Edison Middle School where she met Jesse Delgado. Then attended Austin High School. She married Jesse Delgado on December 14th, 1966, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 5 children: Barbara, Vannessa, Cynthia, Anthony, and Melissa.

Sally is survived by: Jesse Delgado, All 5 of her children, 21 of her grandchildren, 24 of her great grandchildren, and 1 of her great great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister and brothers: Grace Landa, Issac Ybarra, Adam Ybarra, and Magarito Ybarra.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Issac and Amelia, Her sister Angie Benavides, her brothers Andrew Ybarra, Steven Ybarra, Ernest Ybarra, Ralph Ybarra, Gilbert Rivera, and Concepcion Rivera.

Sally worked as a custodian for the University of Houston for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing and singing. Comforting friends and family with her cooking. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, Elephants, and Tulips. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her loved ones under any circumstance. Her loving smile and delicious food was something you could always count on to brighten your day.

A Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm at Forest Park Lawndale ( 6900 Lawndale Ave. Houston, TX 77023). A Funeral Mass will be held Friday April 14, 2023 at 10am at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with a burial to follow a 12pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A reception will follow at American Legion (7599 Avenue C, Houston, TX 77012). Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
