Sandra Kathryn Hill
Passed away on September 2, 2019
Sandra Kathyrn Hill, 67, a native of Houston, left us on September 2, 2019. Sandra was born February 25, 1952, and lived in Houston her entire life. She attended local Catholic schools and graduated from St. Pius High School. The early part of Sandras work life was spent in the electronics industry, however, her dream was to work with animals. Returning to school, she earned her Veterinary Paramedic certification in 1994. After volunteering at the Houston Zoo she was hired as a full time employee. As a keeper in the large mammal section, she had the opportunity to be present for the birth of a baby hippo, for which she sent out birth announcements! From her early childhood Sandra loved fishing. She would go to the lake every chance she got. She was also a great cook, made a mean BarBQ, Shrimp Boil or Gumbo. She loved to feed people. Sandra was also a movie and trivia buff and a great Card player, always winning at the Poker Table. Sandra was a great story teller. People who only met her once remembered her for her stories. Sandra is survived by her loving life partner, Gail Longworth and her rescued Border Collie, Tessa. Others include her closest cousin Dot, and many other beloved cousins and wonderful friends. A visitation will be held in Sandra’s honor on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 9 am to 10 am in the Grand Chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home located at 13102 North Freeway Houston, Texas 77060. Immediately following the viewing, we will be escorting Ms. Hill for her graveside service beginning at 10 am. A reception will be held to continue sharing her memories and stories immediately following the services.

Sandy's the kind of person you dont forget. What you see is what you get. I truly liked that about Sandy. She was 1 of a kind. A gentle spirit & heart. A great story teller. A passionate person who loved life immensely and played poker like nobodys business-Thats an old saying on how good she was. She would often deal & play poker at the same time. Not many people could do both-but she sure could! To boot, when she and Gail hosted, she made the most awesome home made meals for us with alotta love. Best spaghetti & meatballs, & even smoked ribs. Sandy knew how to do it all.
A kind heart, always nice to me-I will miss you Sandy very much. Peace be with you my friend.
Peace be with you too Gail. Sandy loved her life with you. You made her very happy. Her world was happy-cause you were in it. Thank u for sharing her with us. Bless you with all the sweet memories with love & comfort at this time.

The first time I met Sandra she gave me a big bear hug and I thought that I must know this soul! She was a funny, kind and empathetic person who enjoyed life and loved with all her golden heart. She will live on in peace, with slightly sarcastic observations on life in general. Gail, I know you will hear her often, and feel her presence. She will no doubt watch over you until your souls are once again together.
