Sarah Nancy Jozwiak Budnick was born on April 14th, 1929 in Chappell Hill to Valentine and Ladislawa Zientek Jozwiak. She was baptized soon after birth, received her First Holy Communion and Confirmation at St. Stanislaus church. Sarah was the oldest of 10 children.
On October 28th 1948, she married Bernard Budnick at St. Stanislaus church. They were blessed with four children. Sarah, Bernard and their family lived in Houston until 1973 when Bernard’s job was transferred to Longview, TX. On retirement in 1988, Bernard and Sarah moved to Spring, TX to be close to family.
No one could miss the endless love that she and Bernard shared. Even in their last days together they held hands, kissed and stared into each other eyes. They are an inspiration to all of us.
Sarah was proud of her grandchildren. They brightened her world. She loved talking on the phone with her sisters and always had a healthy appetite for life; never missing an opportunity to celebrate a reunion, anniversary, birthday, or wedding. Sarah was a great cook, especially well-known for her famous pecan pie. In her younger days her favorite hobby was shopping. The stores would know her by name.
It is certainly hard to say goodbye to a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend, but we find strength and comfort in our great memories with her.
