

She was known for her adventurous, brave, compassionate, generous, honest, humorous, loyal, resilient, and wise nature.
Sarah's early life saw her family move from Kansas City, Missouri, to Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Bellaire High School. She attended Houston Baptist University then joined VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America), which took her to Southern New Mexico, where she married and welcomed her only child, a son.
Her career began as an executive assistant in the private sector. Her passion for service and adventure led her to the United States Foreign Service, serving in American Embassies as an executive assistant to various American diplomats. She retired after 20 years, respected and admired by her colleagues.
Sarah was a devoted mother and one of five children. She is survived by her son, Matthew Ohman Madrid; her grandson, Paul DeLynn Madrid, and his wife, Kayla; and her sisters, Gail Ohman Llewellyn and Julie Ohman Gilkey and her husband, Bob.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rachel Thompson Ohman and Ray Jordan Ohman; her sister, Nancy Beecher Ohman; her brother, Charles Thompson Ohman; and her brother-in-law Carson Llewellyn.
A lover of music and art, Sarah enjoyed the opera and played the cello in numerous orchestras and concert groups. After retiring to Kansas City, she remained active in her community through the League of Women Voters, the Presbyterian Church, and a local city concert group.
Her generosity and kindness touched many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
Sarah's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
