Saul worked for many years with the City of Houston's Parks and Recreation Department, where he eventually retired.
Saul enjoyed attending church and worshiping the Lord. He was actively involved in his community, especially at Emanuel Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and brothers, watching sports, and spoiling all of his grandchildren.
Saul is preceded in death by his spouse, Martha A. Vega; his sons, John and Freddy Vega; his daughter, Christine; his parents, Domingo and Victoria Vega; his brothers, Julian, Marcelino, Paul, Martin, Francisco, Juan, and Jimmy Vega; and his sister, Maria Reyes.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Saul Vega Jr. (Cynthia), Inez Brazier, Pauline Turnini (Rudy), Andrew Vega (Marie Robles), and Maria Vega. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his nephew, Paul and Mary Ortega, for his care, compassion, and kindness.
