Scott was born to Jerry Lee Kannard and Mary Anne Matthews on August 12, 1963, in Houston, TX.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Kannard; brother, Lance Kannard (Kara and Sedgwick); nephew, Lance Kannard, Jr.; nieces, Vanessa Hayes (Sean and Ben, Josh, Nick), Tiffany Kannard (Jeff and Bryce, Valerie, Jack), Kristen Kannard; Sarah Kannard; aunts, Judy Williams (Scott); Mazie Arnold; uncle, Bruce Bradley (Darlene); and cousin, Rusty Schwartz (Lynn).
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lee Kannard; grandparents, Richard Matthews, Gertrude Matthews-Schwartz (Donald), Glen Kannard; Beatrice Kannard-Bradley.
Scott worked as a body shop technician for Braes Best Body Shop. He also owned and operated a wrecker fleet of 1 as well as an asphalt paving company at different times in his life. He later worked for a construction company and owned and managed a few rental properties. He lived with his grandmother, Gertrude, taking care of her for the last 6 years of her life.
Scott enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and anything Elvis-related. He was a lifelong Astros fan and an avid follower of the Houston Texans.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 9:00 am, with the funeral service immediately following at 9:30 am. Both of these ceremonies will be held at the Chapel of Angels at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023). There will be a short processional to the burial plot at approximately 10:00 am. The Rev. Lisa R. Neilson, of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, will officiate the ceremonies.
