Sergio Leon Garcia Sr., 93, of Houston, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 11, 1931, in Houston, Sergio was the beloved son of Jose and Emilia Garcia. He was one of thirteen siblings.
At the young age of 16, Sergio proudly joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as an aircraft engine mechanic. His dedication to service extended into the Air Force Reserves, where he continued his work on military aircraft for an additional 20 years.
In 1953, Sergio married Caroline Garcia, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage until her passing in 2002. Together, they raised six children: Gary, Alice, Carolyn, Adam, Lillian, and Sergio Jr., who passed away in 1979. Sergio's family grew to include 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
Sergio’s life was defined by his devotion to family, country, and faith. He will be remembered as a hard-working family man. He loved his family!
Sergio leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

A visitation for Sergio will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St, Houston, TX 77034. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
