Sharion Marie Nichols, age 71, died peacefully at home in Ridgeville, South Carolina on August 18, 2019 after a brief illness.
Sharion was born in Houston, Texas on July 16, 1948 to Cleve Ervin and Birtie Prine. She was the proud mother of Jason, her only child. Sharion was his biggest supporter, never missing a track or cross country meet and always cheering him on. Her working life was spent in Houston and The Woodlands in the mortgage industry, retiring from Amegy Mortgage in 2015. Upon retirement, Sharion moved to Ridgeville, next door to her son and his family. At this point, retirement involved a change of pace that didn’t necessarily slow down. Jason’s family of five became a family of six, with Sharion dining nightly with her family, cheering at every soccer and baseball game, and attending school awards ceremonies and musical recitals. Three years ago she had the opportunity to take a Tennessee road trip and share her love of all things Elvis with her grandchildren. Sharion was a strong, independent woman who lived life HER way. She will be greatly missed.
Sharion is survived by her son, Jason (Jacci) Nichols; grandchildren, Austin, Emily, and Henry Nichols; sisters Geraldine Williams, Evelyn (David) Stewart, Catherine Shepherd, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Sharion was preceded in death by her husband Judson Nichols, parents Cleve Ervin and Birtie Smith Prine and brother-in-law Jackson Williams. As per her wishes, a graveside service with immediate family will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
