A graduate of Milby High School, Sheilah worked in the airline industry and later retired from oil and gas industry. She was widely beloved and cherished, she survived 3 bouts of breast cancer with strength and courage.
For more than 43 years, Sheilah was married to her husband, Kevin Wayne Fichtner. Together, they were some of the original founders of Klein First Baptist Church, a reflection of the faithful commitment that shaped the way she lived and served.
Sheilah’s life held both courage and curiosity. She found joy in gardening and in the open-air freedom of water and snow skiing, riding motorcycles, and shooting guns—interests that spoke to her adventurous spirit and brave heart. In retirement, she especially enjoyed spending time in the country with her grandkids, savoring the simple, meaningful moments that become a family’s most lasting memories.
Sheilah also gave her time through service and volunteer work with the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Leukemia Society, offering her energy and care with the same hard-working devotion she brought to all she did. The family extends a big thanks to the CMA group for their support to the Fichtner family, and to her lifelong best friend, Diane Hardy.
Sheilah is survived by her husband, Kevin Wayne Fichtner; son, Duane McCoy; daughter, Shelly Schultz; step-daughter, Julie Fichtner-Riley and husband Gregg Riley; grandchildren, Dustin McCoy (Jess McCoy), Morgan Cammarata (Christopher), Shane Schultz (Kendall), Sean Schultz, Samuel Schultz, Chase Peterson, Nicholas Peterson; and great-grandchildren, Avery Peterson, Kenzlee Peterson, Bentley Peterson, and Grayson Peterson, Riley McCoy, Colton Cammarata, Owen Cammarata, Jax Warren, Tinley Schultz, Ava Schultz, Johnny Schultz, Wrenlee Schultz.
