
Sophie Ann Watson-Benjamin was born to Eligha and Lena Watson on December 18, 1929 in Caddo Parrish, Vivian Louisiana. Her family moved to Orange, Texas in 1941. She was married to Ervin Ray Benjamin Sr. in September of 1945. She moved to the Houston area in 1951 where she work and retired from Ineeda Linen Service after 31 years. Starting a new career at K-Mart where she also retired and then worked at Walmart until her illness. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of Gailee M. B. C. under the leadership of the late E. J. Galloway. Many years later she joined a newly formed ministry named True Love M.B.C. under the leadership of the Late Rev. Franklin Lavergne where she worked timelessly until her illness in 1993. She then became a member of First Morning Star M.B.C. under the leadership of Pastor Carl E. Isaac Sr. until her death. She is preceded in death by her parents Eligha and Lena Watson, six brothers, three sisters, and one son (Cedric). She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Francis Coatney of Houston, her children Irving (Charlotte) of Texas City, Mary (James) of Louisiana, Lynn, Linda, Beverly (Robert), Nathan, Debbie, Dennis, Brenda, Marquise all of Houston, twenty six grandchildren, thirty two great grand children, and one great-great grandchild, as well as a host of nieces,nephews, and friends.
